Updates this year: window displays and auction event
Due to the complications caused by CoVid-19, we are planning a new way to present the year’s art crawl. We will unfortunately not be able to gather and enjoy the crawl all together this year, but that doesn’t mean we can’t have an art crawl at all. Instead this year, beginning July 1 and running all month, we are organizing for downtown businesses to set up window displays featuring an
artists work, and encouraging the community to go look at the pieces downtown at their own time/pace as well as support local businesses as they reopen. The artists’ work will also be posted online on our Downtown Sudbury Arts Crawl Facebook page, and we will be running online auctions on each piece.
In order to make this a cohesive event, each business must:
1. Decorate your shop’s window or entrance with an artist’s painting (artist of your choosing first, then assigned for anyone unsure)
2. Something that represents your business or something you want to say
3. Share the auction post(s) from the Downtown Sudbury Art Crawl Facebook page to your clients.
You as a business are not required to handle any sales of art. If you receive questions about the work you can direct questions to the artist who’s info will be displayed beside their art, or to the Art Crawl. All artists are required to insure their own pieces. If you do not have suitable window or storefront for displays we can arrange to have art placed in an empty storefront.
