Computer technologist by day, artist by night and weekends, my art merges as an exploration of a variety of mediums depicting a range of subject matter, including but not exclusive to florals, landscapes and macros abstracts.
My mediums of choice begins with photography and digital composites, followed by coloured pencil, watercolour, pen and ink. I dapple with acrylics and have recently been focused on learning alcohol inks. Alcohol inks are very difficult to control and I take that as a challenge, being a bit of a control freak.
One afternoon, when I pulled out the garlic I was roasting for some mashed potatoes, I couldn’t help but snap a picture of it plated. Looking at the picture a few weeks later, I was inspired to try drawing the garlic using watercolour pencils. I’m very happy with the results, and hope you enjoy the piece as well.
