In most of the pieces I create, I balance between illustration, and fine art while portraying European folklore I discovered in my early childhood. In this particular piece I’ve pulled inspiration from the various tales that go by similar names. This one in particular is in reference to a Norwegian telling that features a female protagonist I found myself admiring.
Like most of my work, I use colourful, and simplistic colour schemes, as well as curvilinear shapes. This provides a whimsical atmosphere I find representational of both childhood whimsy, and appreciation for life and nature.
